$50,000 National Preparedness Grants for Indiana Local Governments

EMPG grants funded by Indiana's Department of Homeland Security can be used by local governments to further National Preparedness Goals.

Indiana’s Emergency Management Performance Grants (EMPG) provide funding to state and local government to develop, maintain and improve emergency management operations in the state. Applicants who seek funds related to National Preparedness Goals are a priority.

Grants worth up to $30,000 are available to individual entities, and $50,000 grants are available for collaborative efforts.

EMPG grants are available through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and, in the past, have funded projects that strengthen a community’s emergency management program, and help them move closer to achieving the country’s National Preparedness Goals, which could include:

Potential projects should fall into one of five categories regarding emergency management: prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery. In the chart below, items in green represent high funding priorities, items in yellow represent medium funding priorities, items in red represent the lowest funding priorities and items in gray are not being considered for funding during the current cycle.

The deadline to apply for an Indiana EMPG grant is June 20.
