$4M in Houston Super Bowl Grants Awarded

Seventy eight Houston area organizations receive funding from the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee and the NFL Foundation.

Touchdown Houston, a charitable giving program created by the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee in partnership with the NFL Foundation, has announced $4 million in grants to 78 local and non-profit organizations that will reach all 11 counties of Houston.

The grants concentrate on three key areas: education, health and community enhancement. The grants will be administered through the Greater Houston Community Foundation, the official administrator of the Touchdown Houston Charitable Fund. Grants focus on poverty, dropout and homeless prevention strategies, neighborhood improvement, early childhood education, after school programs, healthcare, food access and youth physical fitness and wellness.

The NFL Foundation contributed $1 million.

“The grants provided by the NFL Foundation and Houston Super Bowl Host Committee will ensure Super Bowl LI’s legacy extends beyond a game, and will help the city thrive long after a Champion is crowned,” said  Alexia Gallagher, NFL Foundation Executive Director.
