$1M Grant for Play in Public Spaces

Have you thought about how to put more play in public spaces? Your idea could win $1 million from the Play Everywhere Challenge.

 

Cities, towns, counties and non-profits may apply through May 31 to win up to $1 million to make the best idea incorporating play in public spaces a reality.

Kaboom! and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation are partnering to get communities thinking about how to give all kids the chance to play. Kids need play–but across the U.S., especially in cities, too many children miss out on the fun because of where they live or how much their families earn. The challenge is a concept called Playability.

The Play Everywhere Challenge is looking for community-driven ideas and solutions that integrate play into everyday life and unexpected places, like sidewalks, laundromats, vacant lots, bus stops, grocery stores, open streets and more. If your city or town and its non-profit partners can re-imagine existing public spaces to support play, you can apply.
